Campus Connections - Build it with Us
Situated in the heart of four Sderot communities, Campus Connections will serve as a meeting place for Jews from around the world while providing a safe community space in which to pray, celebrate and just live life. This round structure, symbolizing Jewry worldwide, will encircle the current playground and be connected to three different synagogues thereby facilitating diverse interaction and encouraging Jewish solidarity. For the first time in years, Sderot children will be allowed to play outdoors as the safe structure will be right beside them!
Campus Connections will be a multi-purpose two story complex providing education, religious expression, culture and a sense of solidarity to our foreign visitors and local residents alike.
In addition to the three synagogues that represent the diverse Sderot population, Campus Connections will have a multipurpose hall for local smachot, joint synagogue activities and for hosting the hundreds of Shabbat visitors that frequent Sderot to express their solidarity with the local residents.
There will also be a visitors hall and museum which will serve as the first stop on educational missions to the community. Here they will meet with their peers from the community while learning about living under siege and getting acquainted with the names, faces and personal stories of the victims of attacks. The adjacent conference room will be used for exhibitions, screening films and a variety of other educational activities. All of these spaces will be additionally serve the after school and adult educational needs of the local community.
Building Campaign: Campus Connections is a $750,000 project to be completed in two stages.
Stage One: Buying the existing structures and converting them into a full service, reinforced building with furnishings for each area’s designated use.
Stage Two: Building the second level, our Solidarity Center, to include multimedia equipment, exhibitions and museum displays.
Similar to Temple times, when everyone had an equal share in part of the building process through their half shekel contribution, so too we are looking for $1500 contributions from 500 congregations/communities around the world rather than individual large donors.
Make your expression of solidarity with Sderot concrete, help build Campus Connections.
